Join us for Afternoon Tea at Sandown Bowls Club, where we'll have Guest Speaker Ann Evans, a respected local, sharing her knowledge on The Weakest Link. Enjoy a lovely mix of delicious cakes and tasty savoury finger sandwiches, along with tea or coffee, all included in your ticket price. There will also be raffle prizes to win, and the bar will be open for those who want to buy drinks. It’s a great chance to relax, learn something new, and meet new friends in a friendly setting!
We warmly extend our invite to all YRA members and their guests visiting over the midterm break to join us. Only £6 per person for members & non-members. Payments due by 15 Feb 2026.

Spring Gardening Social
Where: Sandown Bowls Club

Price: £6 per person
Join us for our popular Spring Social Evening at Sandown Bowls Club! This fun event is a great chance to meet people while enjoying good food and gardening tips. Bring a plant or some seeds to exchange or buy, and all the money raised will go to Sandown Greens. We will also have garden-themed raffle prizes! Your ticket includes a delicious sandwich buffet. Come and have a wonderful time celebrating spring with us and supporting our local community!
Bookings for social events must be placed at least 1 week before Event date, with details and payments (either cash or cheque made out to "Yaverland Residents Association") delivered to Lynne Somerville, 21 Yaverland Close or any Committee Member.
(If you need to cancel, please notify us by email or phone at least one week prior to the event to receive a full refund. This policy helps ensure smooth planning and fair management for all attendees. Please Contact YRA if you require further details.)

We shall be hosting our annual Xmas Social Evening at Sandown Bowls Club. The price covers a generous cold buffet (turkey & gammon slices including hot potatoes with all the festive trimmings and sweet treat). Enjoy a lively atmosphere with Christmas music. Get into the spirit by dressing up for a chance to win a prize for the best Christmas attire. And of course, don’t miss out on your special gift from Santa himself!
The evening also features a festive raffle and a fun-filled session of Musical Irish Bingo. We look forward to seeing you there!Please note: doors will open at 5:45 PM, and dinner will be served at 6:30 PM.

Day Trip to Beaulieu
Where: Beaulieu, New Forest

A day trip to Beaulieu in the New Forest has been arranged through Opal Travel Group. Attractions include National Motor Museum, Palace House, Abbey etc. The coach will collect & drop you off at the bus stop opposite Meadow Way.
UPDATE: Now SATURDAY 7TH September
As the take up for our Beaulieu trip is not as many as we had hoped, Opal Travel have moved the trip to Saturday 7th September and aim to make up numbers themselves by advertising the trip to the public. Those that have already booked through Lynne are required to pay the balance directly to her by 31 July, Lynne Somerville, 21 Yaverland Close.
