Residents Meeting with Police & Local Authorities: Jo Payne has been liaising with the council and police and they have asked for a residents meeting on Friday 2nd August 17.30 at the Broadway Centre in Sandown with the police and other authorities present. This is for us to be heard and perhaps ascertain if there are any resources we can pull on to help make this a safer area for all of us, children, dogs and general public. The speed of vehicles has most definitely increased along Yaverland Road and the tireless revving/ backfiring of cars and motorbikes in the carpark at night and early hours is intolerable. The other morning at 8am a car and motorcycle were racing towards Bembridge, and the bike mounted the pavement to get by said car……. God forbid there were any pedestrians or dog walkers etc. Please would you consider attending the meeting as the more voices / people present the more impact we can make as a community. Hopefully, we can make a difference!
